Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information DealMints collects when you use dealmints.in, why we collect it, who it is shared with and what choices you have. We try to collect as little as we need. If something here is unclear, write to us at deal@dealmints.in.
1. Who we are
DealMints (“DealMints”, “we”, “us”) is a website at dealmints.in that helps shoppers in India discover and compare product prices and deals from online marketplaces. DealMints decides how and why the information described below is used, so we are the “data fiduciary” in the sense of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. You can reach us at deal@dealmints.in.
2. What we collect
What you give us
- Contact form: your name, email address, the topic you choose, an optional product or deal link, and your message.
- An account: your name, your email address and a password. We never store your password itself, only a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of it.
- Sign in with Google: if you choose it, Google tells us your name, your email address (which Google must have verified) and Google's own identifier for your account. We do not receive your Google password.
What we collect automatically
- Server logs: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request and the time, kept for security, to prevent abuse and to fix problems.
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages viewed, device, approximate location, how visitors arrive). It uses cookies; see “Cookies” below.
- A sign-in cookie if you log in, so that the site remembers you.
What we do not collect
We do not take payments and we never ask for card numbers, bank details or government ID numbers. When you buy something, you do it on the marketplace's own website, not on DealMints. Please do not include passwords, payment details or other sensitive information in a message to us.
3. How we use it
- to read and reply to your messages;
- to create and run your account and keep it secure;
- to keep the website safe: limiting repeated requests, stopping spam and abuse, and investigating problems;
- to understand which pages are useful and to improve DealMints;
- to meet legal obligations and to protect our rights.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to send you marketing unless you ask us to.
6. Marketplaces and affiliate links
DealMints links to online marketplaces such as Amazon. Some links are affiliate links: if you make a qualifying purchase after using one, DealMints may earn a commission, generally at no extra cost to you (see how DealMints makes money). We do not receive your name, address or payment details from the marketplace.
When you click through, the marketplace's website takes over. It may set its own cookies and receives the information your browser sends, including the fact that you came from DealMints. What it does with that is covered by its privacy policy, not this one.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for:
- messages sent through the contact form, for as long as needed to deal with them and keep a record of the conversation;
- account details, for as long as your account exists;
- server logs and analytics data, for a limited period needed for security and statistics.
If an account is deleted it is signed out and no longer used. You can ask us to erase its personal information permanently (see “Your rights”).
8. How we protect it
The site is served over HTTPS, passwords are stored only in hashed form, access to the systems that hold personal information is limited, and requests that look like abuse are rate-limited. No website can be made perfectly secure, so please choose a strong, unique password and tell us straight away if you suspect your account has been misused.
9. Your rights and choices
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:
- give you a summary of the personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- erase your personal information, unless we need to keep it by law;
- stop using it where you gave consent, which you can withdraw at any time (this does not affect what we did before);
- answer a complaint (grievance) about how we handle your information.
To use any of these, email deal@dealmints.in from the address on your account, and say what you want. We may need to confirm that it is really you. We aim to reply as soon as we can, generally within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India once it is functioning.
10. Children
DealMints is not meant for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, write to deal@dealmints.in and we will delete it.
11. Where information is processed
The servers and services we use, including Google, may be located outside India. Where that happens we rely on providers that protect information to a reasonable standard, and we do not transfer it to any country the Government of India has restricted.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as DealMints changes or the law does. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change is significant we will say so on the site. Using DealMints after a change means you accept the updated policy.
